How to get your paper published in a scientific journal

In general, when you write a paper to submit to scientific journals there is high competition from other authors and research groups. It can be a challenge to get your work published, especially in your early career. It is important that you can create interest of your research results by capturing editors and reviewer's interest. It can be stressful getting a paper published in a scientific journal.

Echocardiography is the most commonly used imaging method for evaluating the heart. It plays a central role in the cardiology routine and in acute and emergency situations, and is an essential component of the medical decision-making process. In spite of its high clinical relevance, national recommendations standardizing the examination procedure, equipment settings, and image documentation have been lacking. The present guidelines were created by the German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine and the German Cardiac Society in coordination with the German Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, German Society of Internal Medicine, Professional Association of German Internists, and the German Association of Cardiologists in Private Practice.

 

 

 

A core curriculumof point-of-care ultrasound examinations for frontline physicians in primary care: results from a European Delphi study

Point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) has found its way into primary care in some, but not all, European countries. A prerequisite for achieving Europe-wide comparable diagnostic reliability of PoCUS performed by primary care physicians is high-quality training that is limited to relevant, frequently encountered PoCUS applications that are easy to learn and master. A European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine (EFSUMB) task force performed a brainstorming exercise to identify all possible ultrasound examinations that could be performed in primary care. A 3-stage  Delphi process was launched.

 

 

Detection of a sentinel lymph node in a patient with lip carcinoma using contrastenhanced ultrasound – Technology description based on a use case

The sentinel lymph node (SLN) is the first lymph node (LN) in the lymphatic drainage area of a tumor and is therefore the first potentially metastatically altered LN. Various methods are currently used to determine the SLN. The standard is usually lymphoscintigraphy, based on the application of technetium-99m-labelled [99mTc] radiotracers (Mahieu R. et al. Cancers. 2020; 12(10): 3055). CEUS lymphography (CEUS-SLN) offers an innovative approach to sonographically assisted identification of the SLN.
