It can be a challenge to get your work published, especially in your early career. It is important that you can create interest of your research results by capturing editors and reviewer's interest. Professional Standards in Medical Ultrasound – EFSUMB Position Paper (Short Version) – General Aspects

This first position paper of the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB) on professional standards presents a common position across the different medical professions within EFSUMB regarding optimal standards for the performing and reporting of ultrasound examinations by any professional ultrasound operator. It describes general aspects of professionality that ensure procedure quality, effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability in virtually all application fields of medical ultrasound. Recommendations are given related to safety and indication of ultrasound examinations, requirements for examination rooms, structured examination, systematic reporting of results, and management, communication and archiving of ultrasound data. The print version of this article is a short version. The long version is published online.
Level of Diffusion and Training of Lung Ultrasound during the COVID-19 Pandemic – A National Online Italian Survey (ITALUS) from the Lung Ultrasound Working Group of the Italian Society of Anesthesia, Analgesia, Resuscitation, and Intensive Care (SIAARTI)

The Italian Lung Ultrasound Survey (ITALUS) was a nationwide online survey proposed to Italian anesthesiologists and intensive care physicians carried out after the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. It consisted of 27 questions, both quantitative and qualitative. This survey showed that LUS was already extensively used during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic by anesthesiologists and intensive care physicians in Italy, and then its adoption increased further. Residency programs are already progressively implementing LUS teaching. However, 76.7 % of the sample did not undertake any LUS certification.
Pediatric Buried Bumper Syndrome: Diagnostic Validity of Transabdominal Ultrasound and Artificial Intelligence

Buried bumper syndrome (BBS) is a severe complication of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) resulting from overgrowth of gastric mucosa and penetration of the inner holding plate into the gastric wall. The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of transabdominal ultrasound (US) in comparison to an artificial intelligence (AI) model for the diagnosis of BBS in children. In this monocentric retrospective study, pediatric US data concerning BBS from a ten-year period (2009–2019) were analyzed. US findings were compared to a clinical multiparameter-based AI model and reference standard endoscopy. Clinical risk factors for the occurrence of pediatric BBS were determined.
