Pain Diagnosis

More than eight million Germans suffer from chronical pain. Electrophysiological examination is usually performed to make a diagnosis but it - with the exception of special procedures - can only capture the big but not the small nerve fibers. Those small nerve fibers are responsible for the experience of pain though. With the help of modern ultrasound procedures by now finest nerve branches can be detected and with that exact diagnosis of causes of pain is possible.
